Brisbane Pool Certificates offers a variety of high quality repair work. These photos are a sample of some of our work. Our bespoke 60 degree Perspex shields and other custom acrylic solutions produce elegant results that are barely noticeable.
60 Degree Tilt Battens
Also known as fillets or chamfers, these are used to make horizontal timber fence rails non-climbable.
Shielding Climbable Objects
A bespoke Perspex shield was created to cover the horizontal face of this fire extinguisher box. The design incorporates a 60 degree angle which is compliant and not regarded as climbable.
Custom 60 Degree Perspex Shields
A speciality of Brisbane Pool Certificates are our custom made 60 degree perspex shields. These can be created to make almost any object non-climbable.
Shields For Gaps Under Barriers
Gaps greater than 100mm are not compliant. They can be shielded with Perspex or timber according to your taste.
Increase Barrier Height
Increasing a barrier's height to 1800mm allows the non-climbable zone to be located on the pool side of the barrier. This is a great way to solve for climbable objects on the outside of the barrier.
Clear Perspex
Brisbane Pool Certificates use high quality Perspex which is completely clear. Used here to shield a climbable timber benchtop and external stairs, it has a glass like finish and is barely noticeable.
Restricting Windows
This window opened directly into the pool area. It was restricted to only open a maximum of 100mm.
Double Lapped Fence
The top of this timber fillet was itself a foothold due to the design of the double lapped fence. Further vertical palings were installed to remove the footholds.
Incorrect Gate Release
The latch on this gate was well below the 1500mm height required. A new gate release was installed.
New Gate Hardware
This gate both didn't self close and the latch was too low. Unfortunately the hinges and gate release were very old and not adjustable. New gate hardware was installed.
Custom Perspex Balcony Solution
Since this balcony floor was within 900mm of the top of the pool fence below, the balustrade had to comply with the safety code. However it was not high enough and had gaps between vertical uprights greater than 100mm. The custom perspex solution increased the height of the balustrade, shielded the gaps and created a 60 degree angle that prevented walking along the balcony edge.
Timber Solution To 3 Problems
This metal barrier was not attached to the timber fence, had a gap greater than 100mm and had climbable rails within its non-climbable zone. A new section of timber was used to both secure the metal barrier and eliminate the large gap, while tilt battens were used to shield the rails.
Custom 60 Degree Timber Solution
Timber palings with chamfered 60 degree edges were used to shield this climbable electrical conduit.
Shade Cloth Shield
Chainlink fence is considered climbable under the pool safety code. After the plant had been cut away, this heavy duty shade cloth was used to shield the 900mm non-climbable zone.
Permanent Closure Of Gates
This secondary tennis court gate led to the pool area with only a 1 metre high picket fence in the way. Since the gate was never used it could be permanently closed with aluminium bar.
Horizontal Projections
Horizontal surfaces greater than 10mm are considered climbable. These bolts were cut back to the nuts to be compliant.
Indoor Perspex Solution
A bespoke 60 degree Perspex angle was created to remove the ability of a child to stand on this foothold and reach the door handle to an indoor pool.
Door Stop
This door to an indoor pool had a magnetic door stop attached to the wall to keep the door open! Highly dangerous and was replaced with an ordinary door stop to protect the wall.
